DASOL PANGASINAN

INDEPENDENCE DAY TRIP – JUNE 12, 2015

Joining the bandwagon to visit all the 81 provinces of the Philippines. I was surprised I only visited 27 of them even if I started traveling in 2010, mostly are provinces in Visayas and Mindanao. At first my goal is just to reach 100 islands and I can die after lol. I’ve been to 30 different island of the Philippines, some of them not only once.

I am not fond of long hour road trips that’s why I only got to Baguio once hehe. I even got bored boarding on a plane for an hour. But it’s different now especially when I met the Layas. We have several trips via land. I came up listing provinces near Manila and planning to visit them this year. In the line up are Tarlac, Bataan, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Abra, Kalinga and Pangasinan.

Since we are more of a beach bummer, we checked out the beaches of Pangasinan and found Dasol blog by Lakwatsero. When you think of Pangasinan, first thing in mind would be the Hundred Islands or Patar Beach. These beaches are already crowded, we prefer remote islands. Good thing my friend Sepi has a contact in Dasol, Ate Venus who arranged the accommodation, food and boat for island hopping activities.

It was raining when we arrived at Ate Venus house but it doesn’t stop us from exploring the small island that can be seen from the shore – Culebra Island.

From Ate Venus’ house, this island can be seen including the 3 coconut trees on the island. It will take you about 30 minutes to get there.

This island is a public property so there’s no entrance fee. Upon arrival, you would notice the trash on the island brought by the visitors or maybe from the fishermen. Some of them use the island as their shelter to take a break from their long day fishing adventure. They would gather here to take their lunch and take a quick siesta before going back again to the sea.

It’s not too crowded even if it’s a long weekend holiday. Perfect location for pictorial especially for Instagrammers like us. Wow iger!

For the house rental please contact Ate Venus at 0929-232-6947. We left Osmeña Dasol 9am the following day. We went straight to Lingayen (Cher’s relatives) and did photowalk in Lingayen Capitol and Lingayen Gulf. From Dasol, we took ordinary bus going to Dagupan and got off Cher’s  (IG: @ku7et) place. Special thanks to her. We went back to Manila Saturday night (10pm) and arrived in Ayala on Sunday 02:30am.
