Sumlang Lake

Because I can’t get enough of Sumlang Lake, here are some of the photos taken during our visit in Legazpi Albay. Need I say more? It is worth a visit especially in the morning or when the Mayon Volcano is not covered with clouds. 20160106_132112-01

TRAVEL GUIDE: LEGAZPI, ALBAY

Travel bucketlist: to have a picture of Mayon Volcano.

Don’t tell me it is not yet included on your list. Mayon Volcano’s perfect cone is one of the must-see places in the Philippines and we are so lucky that it is located here in our country. So on your next getaway, don’t forget to explore Bicol region. It is the first destination of our 7D6N Eastern Visayas trip. I’m excited to share to you the food that we tried during our visit in here.

We had arranged our overnight accommodation at Mayon Backpackers, it’s a hostel so cheaper. They have rooms for solo backpackers, rates from 350-500 per head. Since I do not prefer long bus ride I booked one way flight to Legazpi a month before, cost is at P1,400. Bus fare is around P800 and it will take you 9 to 10 hours to get there.

It was raining when we arrived in Legazpi airport and I was a bit disappointed because the volcano is covered with clouds. Hired a tricycle to the hostel, we met Kuya Joven who offered us a city tour for P500 pesos that includes 1. Daraga Church 2. Cagsawa Ruins 3. Embarcadero and later he suggested to visit 4. Sumlang Lake wherein you can see the reflection of Mt. Mayon on the lake. We just have to add P200 for that so the total package rate is P700 for me and my friend, not bad right? We inquired the rates from the hostel and the caretaker said it usually costs P1,000 and above. Left our backpacks in the hostel and started the tour.

  1. Daraga Church – first stop – so thankful for this opportunity to travel.
